By the looks of a fairly new bowl float and the fact that my boat was totally neglected before I bought it last year, I suspect that my tanks should be drained and cleaned. Anyone know of an appropriate solvent, etc. for this procedure? Has anyone had to replace their tanks because of excess sh!t at the bottom?

I just did my front tank (50 gallon) about a month ago. I used new gas to wash out the crap then installed 2 fuel filters and have two new on the boat when we go out. Good luck

If you can remove the tank, take it to a radiator shop and have it flushed. I got stuck in a monsoon with my old jet boat at Havasu years ago. Sunk the boat, and fill the tanks with water & sand. Tried everything, boat was never the same. Always had fuel problems after that.
