Looking to re-do my interior this year. Boat is 13 years old and the darker vinyls have started cracking. Foam is still in good shape.

I Absolutely NEED to do the rear hatch and back bench.. I think I am going to redo all the vinyl so it matches and get rid of the colored vinyl. Want to go with a basic white with some light grey accents(piping and maybe a few stripes).

I'm looking for recommendations on where to get it done. Kim, is your buddy still in the Vegas area and available for a side job?

Anyone else have suggestions for quality shop to do this? So. Cal, Vegas, or Havasu all ok, but want someone that does a great job at a decent price and will not sit on it for months. Not sure how long something like this should take? I want to get it done ASAP.

Thanks,
Adam

Had mine done a few years ago. Very happy with the quality of work. If I remember right it was around $3,000 new foam, wood, changed the engine cover from a dog house to a full hatch with a new bench. Place was called Stratton Marine here in Riverside. Not sure if they are still around but you can try them at (951) 637-6990. There also used to be a shop in Corona I think it was called Designer Marine, might have been the shop Ultra was using. Googling them came up with something different but you might try them. These guys have a fancy web site (http://westcoastmarineinteriors.com/index.php) :dunno: Lots of guys out of work in the marine industry right now. You might try posting on Performance Boat and see if there's someone on there looking for side work. Or maybe a Craigslist ad.

This is the place I am going to use this winter.....West Coast Marine Interiors (http://westcoastmarineinteriors.com/index.php). Same place PH listed above. They do some amazing work. Couple guys on PB have used them and been very pleased.

Got mine done last year at Martinez Upholstery early last year. Had a few quotes and they came in lowest, got it done on time and quality of work was above what I expected. 2 bolster seats with some new wood, rear bench with most wood replaced and glassed, both sides with pockets, re-glued some carpet, engine hatch top and inside re-felted =2,400. They are in Norco father and son business - 951.340.9171

Thanks for the replies so far. I will give Bill a call. I submitted some pics for a quote at WCMI this morning.. So far haven't heard anything back.

I was originally just gonna re-do what I have, but after looking at the galleries at WCMI I am thinking about changing a few small things like adding speakers to some of the dead areas and maybe figuring out how to add a removeable pylon to take advantage of a higher rope mount. Maybe get some cupholders added to the bow area.

Suggestion noted. I am disguising it as a "Ski Pylon".. LOL... It's on the potential upgrade list.

Here are my thoughts on mine...apply to you as you see fit.

Not changing the layout any but adding of few things. Going to be adding cup holder pockets in the open bow which mine doesn't currently have. Talking a lot of the color out of it and going with mostly white with just a couple purple stripes. My biggest changes are going to be with the stereo. The tunes sound great when not moving but while under power it is just too hard to hear. Going to be moving all the speakers up. Adding speakers in the gunwales for the driver and passenger seats and then adding speakers in the cup holder pockets for the rear bench and the new pockets in the bow. This should allow me to hear the tunes much better while under power and while beached.

The cup holder in the bow is something I have been thinking about, it seems all the newer boats do this, I also don't have them... I have the same problem hearing the stereo when beached.. It's fine in the boat(I have speakers in the open bow, in the cabin, and in the cockpit already), but it doesn't project out of the boat at all. I don't need everyone to be able to hear my stereo, but It would be nice to be able to sit on the beach and listen to the stereo. I do like the accent lighting, just wondering how much vs. how often it would get used. My current lighting is decent, but just regular 12v bulbs instead of any trick led lighting as you have shown.

Maybe the speakers in the cup holder pocket would project better. My bow speakers are currently under the seats by your feet. Something I'll try and get more information on.

Exactly! The mid's and high's don't project (or are directional) so with them down low (like mine are too), they will not project out of the boat very well. The low's (subs) are not directional and can be anywhere in the boat. By getting the speakers up high they will both be better while cruising and will sound better when on the beach.

As for the lighting...if your replacing the interior already it makes sense to replace the old light fixtures and why not go with the LED's? :thumb: I am the same, I don't use the lights much but it sure would be cool looking when you do. :D

I have the small tweeters at the helm, passenger and up in the bow area. You can hear mine over the wind and engine provided you are behind the windshield or going slow. I am running a 600 watt system with independently amped subs mids and tweeters. It is still hard to hear when running. You will hear the tweeters and feel the bass, but it is not as clear with the wind noise. I also have a 6 CD, Ipod and Sat radio. Next time, I will skip the CD changer. I only use the Ipod. My VHF has weather on it, and CDs on the water are kind of a pain.

I have a lighted cockpit. You will love that.

Ken - It is even worse in mine with the roar of that BB Chevy back there. :D

Maybe you should consider a bunch of holes in the transom!

That is very practical and SICK for a wakeboard boat but wouldn't do us much good when beached and trying to hear the tunes while sipping a ice cold refreshment in our beach chair. :thumb:

anchor it out - problem solved. when it is time to leave, you play the 1075sci audio track on your mp3 and confuse the hell out of everyone on the beach as you drive away.

I guess that would work during the warm water months but the family would have a problem with swimming to the boat when the need something. :D
