Anyone ever do one? Any suggestions besides the obvious of draining the fuel first. Dealer wants $920 to do it. $560 parts, $360 labor. Napa quoted me $280 for the pump, I just need to decide if I want to take it on or not. Changed one on my jeep before. It wasn't too bad. Just seems that the truck would pose some unforeseen issues that the simpler Jeep would not.

If it is in the tank, call a friend pull the bed. Takes about an hour if your slow.

Thanks Keith.
The mechanic at my work said he would do after hours for $120. That plus the part saves me a ton of time and money. So glad I'm not going to have to do this.

I did the one on my suburban (in tank) and it wasn't too bad. Just loosened the straps, lowered it with a floor jack, took the old one out, put the new in and lifted it back into place with the jack. Wasn't too big a pain except that I had just filled up the day before so it had about 40 gallons of fuel in it! :smashfreak:

They are the best. The one in Fallbrook is an old school auto parts store with old dudes that know what the hell they're talking about.

The one right on Mission Road on your way out of town going north? Used to go there all the time when I lived there...great place. Talk about old school....do they still look everything up in the books instead of computers?
