That Holley "red" is the same one I run in my Scarab. Be aware that there is an automotive version and a $10 more expensive marine version. The marine version has a sealed body with a nipple outlet for the lower seal. If the seal were to rupture, it would send the leaky fuel out the nipple, and it's supposed to be plumbed back to the fuel tank - so no vapors would be in the bilge. The automotive pump does not have that option and would vent to the bilge or wherever you have it mounted.

Here is the Holley Red Marine pump: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=HLY%2D712%2D801%2D1&N=700+115&autoview=sku

I was thinking the same thing when I looked at the description of the one PH said he bought.

PH - Did you buy the Automotive or Marine version?

PH was staying at our BHC place when he changed the 'pump'. This is the way it went down. He finally wakes up, has some coffee and sezs" I got to go to the auta' parts store when they open at 8:00 a.m. " He leaves and brings back the 'pump' (also brought me a cup of coffee). I don't think he could tell the difference between the "red and "blue" because I heard he was color blind. Now he removes the old 'pump' places on the side walk in front of my house. Replaces the new 'pump'. Bob (JAP) comes over and the motor fires and is soundiing great. The JAP's and PH's leave the house to go the the river. I'm loading up to come back home ....... then I see the old 'pump' still on my side walk and a crescent wrech! WOW! I pick up the parts, clean up his mess on the street (before the haz mat people show) and make the house presentable. Gotta be nice looking cause the house is on the market. .....................Just pulling your rope Bud!!!!:jump:

Yeah I prolly should have gotten the marine one but I was sorta pressed for time. The marine one does have the return back to the tank. The one I had before didn't have one and I'm lazy and didn't want to take the time to put it in.
