View Full Version : Siphon Tanks?

My boat has been sitting alost a year and I think I would like to drain the tanks, they are about 1/2 full.

What is the best method, is there a siphoning product that I can buy at west or Harbor Freight or something like that?

Oklahoma credit card. Remove the fuel line after the fuel pump and stick it in the can. There is an pump like attachment you can stick on the end of a drill, but fuel and the spark from an electric motor may not be a good thing. You can get a hand pump and do it that way but i did mine a few months ago with the fuel pump.

Put some additive in it, fill the rest up with good premium fuel and run it, after tanks are empty, change fuel filter.

Hit it with some fuel dryer to get out water, some stabil or somethign like that, top off with good stuff and run it. Make sure it will run on the hose for a few minutes at the house and take a couple of new fuel filters with you.
