How is the Advantage dealer down there? (Offshore) I am considering moving out of my 22 Sport Cat and into a 22 Party Cat.

I would love to just take it to Advantage and have them cut the top off and put a new one on, but that probably isn't real practical!

Who else makes a nice deck type boat symilar to the Party Cats?

Down where? How far are you from Havasu? They had a great looking 22 Party Cat in there just last week.

I'm up near Salt Lake City.

Was the 22 Party used or new? I spoke with Bob at Advantage and he said they didn't have anything new or used in a 22.

just another payment

If you are going to come down fron Salt Lake City anyway you might just as well continue on down to Havasu.

They SUCK! Unless you want burns in your vinyl when you take it in for service, grease all over everything, your prop and/or other parts missing, over inflated prices verses the quote they gave you, holes in your hull. Other than that they'll sell you a boat.

The one they had in was a used one, may have been getting serviced, I didn't get too far into it. They have 24's, also. (and 27s, and 28s).

The Advantage shop in Havasu is the manufacturer. I've been in contact with lots of great folks there who are very willing to take care of my boat needs. The price delta may make it worth your while to pay for a little extra gas and a hotel room in Havasu to get manufacturer pricing.

Either you go to Havasu or offshore marine your going to pay the same price. You get NO discounts from advantage. I'm sure offshore will give you something. Offshore DID have some dirty mechanics but they are long gone. many friends have had good service there. Offshore will give you manufacturer pricing plus maybe a little more.

Let me know what your looking for and I'll try and make a phone call to offshore to see if you can get a btr deal. I hope I won't ruin it for you LOL :)

Scarabrick,

Thats pretty much what Bob at Advantage told me. Plus they are not at all interested in my 22 Sport Cat where Offshore might be, (according to Bob)

Thanks for the link, I saw that one a couple weeks ago. Would like a little newer. Maybe 2000 thru 2005 models.

The other option is to sell mine outright. But from what I have found the trade value vs sell value is not enouph to offset advertising costs and the sales tax benefit of trading in Utah....

Found a 2000 in Dallas, Tx that I really like, even had my bro-inlaw go look it over for me. But that dealer isn't interested in my Sport Cat.

If you have a contact at Offshore, give me his name. I always prefer to deal thru referals if possible....

As Scarabrick says, talk to Doug at Offshore. He always treated me well and followed up when I had a problem. Same price from dealer or factory.

Doug helped me into my PartyCat 28 by putting my used up for sale and taking like 3-5% of what he got for it, plus specifying a price for trade up front. I took delivery on the new before the old sold and he held to the trade price and eventually sold the old.

The factory is also great ... whenever I need a part replacement or something, they ship right out and always have inventory for my rig.

Great deck boat product and I would buy again if looking for a deck. Mine is 7 years old and still good as new, minus whatever mechanical fixes I have dealt with over the years.

I would stay away from the shorter models if possible though. When they air out they tend to get a bit loose. The 28 and the new X-Flight have better hulls, especially in the rough water, and you will appreciate the additional space when you want to take folks out.

PS -- For Panic Button ... they shitcanned Shane and he is attempting to run a small shop out of a garage in Boulder City. Karma. Randy now runs the shop. I have since found better mechanics ... Frank at Boulder City Marine for example, and he is across the street from where I store so is convenient. There is also a good high end shop, at last, in Boulder City as well ... Asplund Marine. Good folks and stand by their work.
