well. i guess i should give you guys the rundown real quick..

got the engine started the other day.. sounded great, nothing crazy but a bit rich. i first primed it, and noticed a small amount of oil come out of the valve cover. some tighting of the screws seemed to fix the problem. and it fired right up.

my oil pressure gauge was reading at 80 constantly, so i knew it wasnt right.
but i (stupid me) figgured that i must have pressure, just a bad sending unit.

so i refired it about 3x. total of max15mins. to adjust timing and small things.

today, i go and get a new gauge and sending unit. install it..
fire it up.... and no pressure. :eek3::eek3::eek3:

next, i start some red-neck checks... i pulled off the sending unit, and turned it over.... NOTHING pumped out...:eek3: now i know i have a problem.

i pulled the header off one side, then a valve cover.. there is some oil thats in there, but not much on top of the valves...

Now im totaly stressed once again.. :puke:

so i pull the distrib out, and try to then pull the gear out, but its STUCK... will not come out... I CANT BELIEVE IT!!!!

what else do i check... what do i do? any ideas?

Pull your oil filter and open it up to see if there is any metal shavings in it. Pull the coil wire, crank it for a few minutes to see if is pumping up.
