View Full Version : asplund performance doing my install
i talked to the fine folks at asplund performance today. i'm taking the water sled over there on monday after work to have the stereo and fans installed. they told me it's not their normal gig but they'd be happy to do that. i warned them i've not heard very many good stories about having boats worked in the vegas valley and i was looking for quality work. they told me that's why they opened a facility here. he asked if i could bring it down to them on tuesday, then asked my schedule. i told what hours i keep my shop open and he then told me to bring it down monday night after i get off of work and that he'd wait for me! brownie points already!!!
i'll keep you guys posted as to how it comes out.

I use them for high end applications when needed.

Good luck James, too bad I didn't know they where not installed already. I have vacation, my son has been bumped two days in a row, I am waiting for parts for the Scarab, and hence, would have had enough time to get that done for you. Oh, well, give me a call if you change your mind.
i dropped it off to them today and so far am very impressed with the level of customer service. darrell waited for me to get there tonight after i closed the shop. i rolled in there about 10 after 6. he was willing to go over with me what i wanted done and how he intended to handle the install and make recommendations. it sounds like he really knows what he's doing and is not going to piece meal it together. i'm very happy so far. :thumb:

I'm sure you will be happy with it. Will it be ready for this week-end? Hope to see the three of you out there!
i don't think so kim. i'll be very surprised if it is. they are installing a new stereo deck for but they are moving it's location also. by doing so, they have to cut a hole in the upholstery. i'm having them stitch the edge of the upholstery and that will take 3-4 days for the vinyl shop to get the boat in. i probably won't see it until next week sometime.
did you get motor #3 fixed? i want to see you make a run for the record :)

Oh, well, a week is not too long. I used two years to get mine back in the water. Waiting for parts for #3, supposed to be here today and then off to the lake....:D Record run will take place after I get a few more parts that I am collecting.:thumb:

MY buddy is a good friend of darrel's. He does good work. He also does a lot of HIGh performance boats in Cali. Boating season is longer out here vs cali so thats why he opened a shop here. He has a full machine shop in cali and soon will be buying machines out here so he won't send stuff to his other shop. He'll stay open late, give you his cell # for emergency's and do what ever it takes. I'm sure he'll treat you right
Rick
i just got off the phone with him and i think he's got a new loyal customer. he said the magic words, "i'm a bit of a perfectionist and i treat customer boats as if they were my own".........BINGO!! he's going to do well here with an attitude like that.
well i picked up the boat this morning from Asplund Performance. all i can say is they have my business as long as they are in town. i HIGHLY recommend them to anyone needing marine service. they are very knowledgable about what they are doing, they went the extra mile to make sure it was done properly and even did things to prevent mishaps in the future. i have not had time to play with the stuff they have installed but i have no doubt it will be better than new. they were very easy to work with and even offered to deliver my boat to me. these guys are top flight!! daryl, don and wayne....thanx for the effort!!

Glad to hear you had a good experience James
i'll try to get a couple of pic today. it's nothing exciting like a blower or anything. just a couple of fans and they relocated my stereo deck. i haven't even had a chance to really look at it yet. i picked up the boat, parked it at home, went back to work, as soon as i got home from work we meet up with kim's relatives. haven't been home since.

He's in Boulder city just past the main stop light(the one going DOWN to the dam/lake) on the right. I think there is checker flag or something on teh building.
their phone number is 293-4978. if you are going south on 95 into BC, go straight through the light at bucannon (or whatever it's called) like you're going into the older section of BC. the road will narrow down from 2 lanes into one and start to curve to the right. they are located on the right hand side as that road start to curve. they don't have retail yet but will before too long. for now it's just service.
