so i have the drilled the holes out enough to get the bullets flush with the transom. should i completely reassemble the header pipes and mount the bullets as a test fit before i do the silicone around the mufflers? then disassemble and apply caulking once i know everything fits just right? i know it adds a good amount of work but i want to make sure i do it correctly. any advice??

just talked to the resident expert, trouble maker, and got the inside scoop. i should be up and running this afternoon.....assuming of course i find my lucky rabbits foot, wear a four leaf clover, have a full moon, find a rainbow and keep my fingers crossed :)

Well, did you get them installed? Didn't see you at the lake today.. It was a great day...even the ramps weren't that packed...go figure.

as a matter of fact they are on and i had the boat running in the driveway with NO LEAKS!!!!!! WOOOOO HOOOOOO!! it seems considerably quieter but maybe i'm just imagining things :) we'll see how it sounds and keep watching for leaks this saturday. they are definitely going to be put the test! about 100 miles worth.

You are not even going to be able hear that thing on the water now! It was quiet before with those tips in the water at idle. Remember how loud mine was when we broke in the new motor? It's still that loud! :insane: I never installed my Gibson tips...still sitting in the back of my truck. At this point, I think I will wait until I get pulled over before I put them on.

Hell yeah James!!:thumb:

Way to go. Working on your boat, taking pictures and posting them.

That is awesome.

This might not relate... when I did exhaust on mine the hoses did not leak in the driveway. However, once I got the lake and ran a little they did. Could of seconds with a screwdriver and I was good to go.

I want to go with a Thru Transom header for my little jet. (I am keeping it even when I get a big boat). I like having the exhaust with a low underwater growl at idle speeds. Facilitates talking. :thumb:
