my work (http://www.exponent.com/intro.html) is a little hard to explain, but the link will help out.

I am a Scientist with the largest engineering and scientific consulting firm in the US. I work in our Human Factors division. So, anything where people (humans) get hurt or killed, I testify on. We make our money by doing research and testifying as expert witnesses. You know some of your clients:

GM
Chrysler
American Airlines
World Trade Center
Louisville Slugger
Graco
Black and Decker

etc, you get the point I hope

That's right, I forgot (not what you do, but that you work with those companies). Hey dude, how is Graco as a baby stuff maker company? We just bought a Graco double stroller, and it's cool! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif The baby seats pop out and go right into the car.

Graco is good stuff. People just get a little to quick at pointing the finger when they hurt their children and they need someone to blame.

DB,
I am an expert in Failure.

So did your Company support Ford and/or Bridgestone in the Rollover/shredded tire fiasco?

Yep, we mainly represent defense counsel.

Then my wife's firm was on the other side of the table. They were involved in a Firestone/Bridgestone/Ford case that settled out of court for some "serous" dough. They don't do much plantiff stuff - usually involved in construction defect and now toxic mold cases. Mostly defense but some plantiff.

Huge dollars are spent when cases like that settle. We just had one settle with Six Flags. You can probably figure that the case was a little more than someone getting sick on cotton candy.
