I've heard from a few tech support guys at Dell that GoDaddy is a pretty good place to host a site, prices are low, service is decent.

I'm not expert (PB - I expect you'll chime in on this one) and don't know exactly what this site needs to run well on a new host. Can anyone tell me what they've heard or their experience has been with godaddy.com BESIDES how hot the chicks are in the commercials?

I'm looking at moving all of my domains and all of my sites over - but this one is the hardest with the vbulletin.

I just can't take this host media temple anymore - I got an error today and I hope you guys aren't getting them - but I'm just sick of it. I shouldn't get errors when I can't even get a chance to check out the forum much!

Advice requested - you too PB

Mydomain.com a few $$ less a year, but much more features. You can move the vB site with no problem to there. Multipal locations in the US & Canada for DNS servers so no worries if a hurricane or weather hit locations.

got some bad info on hosting at godaddy. Checking into the mydomain.com one, but there's not much info on the hosting forums about them because they're more of a domain registration company I guess.

Still looking for a reliable host I can move all of my sites too. My forum guy is looking too. Bear with me. It's not even on the backburner - it's on the front burner - but it still takes time.

Get a DSL (5meg) at your house ($40/mo), $50 router, $400-$600 pc with Raid 5 HD's (3 drives with info stripped across the drives) and you can host it yourself. I might have some servers that are going out of production that you could have.

I would not recommend hosting it himself to Greg. I know he wants a "set it and forget it" system, and that's not what a server will be. Let someone else be on call for when it takes a crap. :)

yeah - keith's right, I don't have time for my family let alone try to mess with hosting the site. I need a reliable host that has good support.

I think we may settle on f5hosting.com - that one seems to be the best of the options right now.
