We did an EME last week. We train for these so if and when (and they will) happen we will be prepared. I am an EET (exercise evaluation team member) that is hand picked by the commander because of experience and subject matter expertise. This last scenario was a gate runner that ran the gate, got on base then hit a passenger bus, detonated an IED to kill or maim. His main target was the airfield, but the security was too good, so he hit the bus. VERY realistic scenario. Had teeth, 10 victims dressed in various injuries, etc and a car we helped destroy, plus a loud explosion simulator. Here are some pics.
