What do you think the SWEEPING changes are going to be that are made by the Dems?

Better

Worse

Politics now seems to be more about name calling and scandal investigation, playground he said, she said type of thing instead of moving foward and doing what is right for this country. I try to find what the canidates REALLY stand for and all I find is they do alot of sitting. I did vote absentee. Wife in Nevada and me in Texas.

Just seems like the same old thing. RIght now everyone blames Bush. Well the next president will get blamed for something as well.

Just venting

What do yall think?

Nancy Pelosi... What is up with that bitch?:Thanx:

I agree. It takes a lot of time to get through all the crap that the other party and the news dig up on candidates just to get to what they really stand for. :cussing: I can see why some people just give up on voting....it is a real pain in the ass!

We haven't been attacked on our soil since 9/11
The current administration has navigated our economy through hurricanes, terrorism, oil crisis, war, the "real estate" bubble, the "stock market bubble" and a ton of other stuff and the economy is still going pretty strong by any measures including the deficit being cut much faster than originally projected

When the dems go and erase the tax cuts put in place by the bush administration it's going to hurt the markets and the economy - those are just the facts as I see them

When the dems go and pull the troops out of Iraq, Iran is going to move in and turn that place upside down with all of their messengers of hate - it will turn into a far worse place than it is now, it will destabilize the entire region, oil will shoot up again, and the terrorists will have a place to plan their next attack on us.

War sucks, but terrorists will not stop until they destroy us or we destroy them, we cannot let Iraq get any worse than it already is.

God Bless our troops and the fine job that they're doing. God Bless our leadership for making tough decisions and doing the best they can, and God Bless our country.

Don't forget - I can virtually guarantee you there have been SEVERAL thwarted terrorist attack attempts on our soil that have been busted up but cannot be publicized for many reasons. We're much safer than we even know, and the current administration get's nothing but crap for the war.

That's my soapbox speech - don't take it too seriously or read into it too much - this IS a forum for discussion after all! I'm sure many of you will disagree vehemently with me and I respect your thoughts as well! I just have my own opinions like I'm sure you all do.

By the way - like my new signature :)

Don't know about sweeping but all the sudden Rumsfeld is out - might have been better if he left a couple of days ago

If implying that the election would have had a different outcome with him gone, doubt it. Enough people, or at least enough that actually voted, were fed up and wanted to senda 'message' WTF that message is, I don't know. :dunno: All I know is that I expect my taxes to go up now that the democRATS are back in control.....

For all we know, this may be a ploy by the Republicans to let the Democrats F- up the next 2 years so they can take it all back again.

I agree as well.

What most people dont get is when the rich DO GET richer, they spend more money on things. This SPREADS the wealth.

What ever we do in Iraq will never be good enough or the right thing. We leave now, we left to soon. We leave tomorrow, we left to late and didnt do enough for the people there. It is a lose lose situation.

I wish the media would show the schools, the infastructure, the free people the 85% that want us there, not the 15% that shoot at us. No spin news reporting...whatever.

Good points RH - I spent the weekend on a client related cruise to Ensanada. One of the members of our group is the youngest Colonel (I'm pretty sure) in the army and one of the sharpest guys I've ever met. The insight he had was amazing - and similar to what you have pointed out above here. When you hear it first hand from someone who has sat in the throne of the golden palace in Iraq it makes you take notice and think about all of the good being done. It was an honor just to bend his ear for a bit on the trip.

I'm also not one to admit that the sacrifices of our brave service men and women are in vain - or I should say I don't think that is the case and don't believe I ever will be. If we succeed there, it will go down in history (10 or 20 years from now) as a massive victory for Iraq, and against terrorism, and for democracy!

Dammit, I told myself to stay off my soapbox!:smashfreak:
