If there was an online service that provided high quality portfolio/financial/investment planning and delivered this information via a webcast/conference call (like gotomeeting.com or MS livemeeting) would you use it?

For example, I have hourly clients who pay me just to get advice and guidance on how much to save, how to allocate their 401k plans, what investment vehicles are best like ROTH's or IRA's, portfolio structure and management, etc.

I was thinking that may make a good online business - offer that information through a web conference for a fixed fee. There is no conflict of interest that brokers who sell investment or insurance products have (the commission) and the information is detail oriented and quality.

For many hourly clients I create an entire no-load vanguard portfolio for them taking all of the guesswork out of it. It would be that type of deal. I haven't had one yet who hasn't spent the $250 for a hour and walked away telling me it was the best investment in their planning.

Just curious if anyone has any thoughts on this. This may not be the right forum to poll but I figured I'd throw it out there as I've kicked that idea around for a while.

If I pulled it together the fee would be between $500 and $750 (depending on the complexity). It would most likely take an hour of the users time to prepare and forward the information needed and an hour to do the webconference - so there would be roughly a two hour committment if someone wanted to use this service.

Sounds like a decent plan for some people, however we prefer a 1 on 1 with our guy at least once a year and often make phone calls during the year. Somethin about look in the eye or hearing the tone gives the warm comfy feeling. Generally he doesn't charge us for a simple phone call either.

yeah - I figured I'd throw it out there. It would be more for the DIY guy vs. the one wanting full service. Alot of the DIY clients I have are hourly and just want a second opinion vs. someone to do it all for them.

Good input though! It's great to have the forum to bounce ideas around.
