View Full Version : stereo problems
well i found one more topic i'm pretty much clueless at. the last time i used my boat the stereo worked great. i got in it today to clean the interior and was going to listen to the stereo. i turned it on.....nothing. no static, no click, nuttin' http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/insane.gif i looked at an inline fuse that i couldn't tell if it was blown or not. it looked like it said it was a .5amp fuse. i couldn't find a .5 so put in a 1amp fuse. still nothing!!! i have no idea where to look for any type of problems. everything else on the boat seems to work fine. PLEASE HELP!!!!

wow.... I encountered the exact same problem, caused by cleaning the boat too well. On mine, windex oozed through the seal on a cup holder, allowing a few drops to drip directly onto the curcuit board of the stereo - toast.
Since it occured inside of the head unit, on the downstream side of the transformer, the five amp fuse never blew and I have a very pretty, very expensive paper weight.
good luck, KC
damn that sux! is there a way for me to check and see if the head unit is bad? if that's the case it looks like i might be cruisin' havasu with no tunes http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
