WELCOME.
What are running http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif???
Yeah, I guess I am off to a rocky start by posting my pic in the stealth thread.
I see alot of people from OP6C are regulars in here and had a couple Q's for Kev.
Anyone gonna be in Havasu this weekend? I am waiting for my wife to get home so we can hurry to the freeway.
What am I running?

Hey Kev, I tried a 22 pitch B-1 4 blade and all it did for me was raise my rpm and slow me down. I think with all the crap I keep in the back of the boat that I cant plane any slower than 26 mph. The old jet I would bury the tabs and diverter and we would wakeboard all day, ok for a couple hours till our legs and arms fell off. Have you had anyone board slower than planing speed, and how bad was the bowrise/vision?

07-23-2004, 04:03 PM
Bob - I can keep it on plane pulling a wakeboarder at 16-19 mph (gps). The problem that I have is that my throttle is the Gaffrig "click" kind so it is hard to keep it at that speed. I have to constantly move the throttle up 1 click and down 1 click to keep it at that speed and not fall off plane.
I have a lot of stuff in the back as well....2 tubs of stuff (tools and cleaning stuff) and a tube. Then all my stereo stuff is in my walk-through (3 amps, 2 - 12" subs boxed in, ice chest, wet suits, life jackets, anchors, fenders, etc.)
What seems to be your problem?

Never tried it yet but am taking the boards on this trip so we will see. I think I usually have all that stuff and a bunch of people in my boat so it takes a while to plane out. Also I dont have the 502 like some lucky people. I am also bringing the gps to get actual boarding and planing speeds.
does your boat plane out very quickly? I have to slowly build speed then power it up while trimmed all the way down to plane out with the normal 5 coolers, and 6 people on the boat.
With two it is very easy but I still have to be trimmed all the way down.
Hey D-More, I thought I remembered you but if you saw me walking around with 3 beers at a time you can understand my fyzzy memory.

Leave the trim all the way down except for the high speed runs. If you have a lot of peeps in the boat....make them sit up front when boarding. That should help. I am sure the 502 helps, but you should be good with the 454.

$38.00 what did you do break down again??
at $2.29 per gallon $38.00 does not get you very much. it cost me $120.00 per day on river trips and about $80.00 per day on lake trips unless I go to a close beach and don't take too many rides, but I my throttle has 2 positions idle and wide open and thats the way the family likes it the faster the better.
