Anyone see the article in the paper about high winds at mead that were causing waves and sunk one boat and caused one death?
You folks be careful out there. My mom and dad's boat sunk about 15 years ago too.

Yup ... always pays to be safe and keep your wits about you on the water, even a lake. I hate to read or hear about these incidents, but the death could have been avoided (e.g., wearing life vests, tying rafts to a boat or shore, etc. and etc.).

That sucks.
How fast were the gusts.

I remember 3 years ago, a 33' Fountain sunk. 100 mph gusts that day.

The lady that died this week was on an air mattress with her daughter and dog. They must have gotten too far from shore and couldn't make it back. The daughter and dog survived. The guy they found was not boating related, he was over by gypsum wash, fully clothed when they found him. Probably fell off a ledge or something. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

People underestimate the power of mother nature all the time. Enjoy here, but also have respect for her.
