Thought 05 they started enforcing noise level laws?
Anyways.....was handed a ticket pulling into lake mead marina sat evening for being too loud. For those of you that saw and heard my boat at LVHB beach, what a fuc*ing joke!
92db, I guess the "allowable" # is 88. While sitting there getting written up no less than 6 boats idle by considerably louder than my little boat/stock motor. One of them was hitting 90db on the ranger's meter (it was still on and in my view) from 150+ feet away....

The new noise laws I think you mean are California noise limits - NOT for out of state. Which law enforcement service ticketed you?

Even Lucky Dog with his OT headers didn't even get noticed. Or did you?

Sorry to hear that. Â*You aren't the only one...TMF has been hassled before, too. Â*As E502 said, you are referring to the CA new law that starts in 01/2005. Â*At Lake Mead that is the National Park Service handing those out. Â* http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif Â* Hope they don't go up to Echo on Father's Day weekend. I think McD is right on the national park service thing.
I left the ticket in the boat, that I left in Henderson, along with the ez-up I was supposed to have with me for a bbq this afternoon. Ah well, some weekends are just not your weekend I guess....

Dicudmore ... WTF is right!!!!!!!
I got ticketed idling into the same marina ... wrong place and wrong time. At least 6 other boats at least as loud as mine or louder idled by with me asking the officer how he was going to enforce compliance with all on the lake? I could be wrong, but I think it is a function of the houseboaters and sailboaters complaints that are docked at Lake Mead Marina ... the ones that never actually use their boats, but sip their cocktails while moored to the dock, or what I cannot understand, are in the water next to their boat swimming/floating in the oily h2o of a marina.
I now make a point of going out early, immediately heading to the upper basin, and not coming in until the sun is going down. Seems I can wake up earlier than Johnny Law and outlast him on the lake http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif.
I went to court on my ticket. Spent about 20 min. talking over boat type and kind of engine with a judge that was more interested in boating than noise enforcement. Talked over his boat, his friends boats, and good places on the lake. Left with paying only his court cost time ... $35 if memory serves.

I came in right behind him and it was twilight. Law enforcement were out in force and pulling people over coming in and out of the marina for safety checks all day long. I wouldn't worry about fathers day I don't believe they will be hassling people like they did Saturday. They were even checking boats for extinguishers, life jackets ect. on the launch ramp. (a first for me)
