Here is the low down fellas.
This event starts at 10am. Please be there early to get coordinates and take care of money matters. If you think that you will be late. Let me know and we will make arrangements for that.
Event location is LVHB beach. If this beach will not support this event we will relocate, we will NOT cancel this event. Personal will be at LVHB beach to give direction to new location if need be. DO NOT concern yourself with this too much as it is only a contingency plan.
Pre head count will be appreciated. We need to know how many we are going to feed that day for lunch.
There will some activities planned for the younger ones on the beach.
The poker run will be with GPS coordinates. If you have a GPS, good. If you don't then you need to get one. You can also follow someone that has one. You will get a sheet with coordinates on it. Not all the coordinates will be in the same order. Some will go to stop 3 then 5 then 1 etc. Depends on the sheet you get. Contingent upon number of entrants, that is the number of places paid. Entry will be $60.00. This will get you a coordinate sheet and a poker hand. Extra hands will be $20.
You will proceed to first coordinate and pick up a numbered poker chip at that location. Dependant on the number of entries you have paid for is the number of chips at a given location you pick up. Pay for 3, pick up 3. Pretty simple. You go from point to point until you have reached all 5. Then proceed back to LVHB beach for the card draw in front of everyone. Wild cards will be available for the measly sum of $10 a piece, maximum of 2. Where is this money going? Into the 50/50 drawing. We are also going to have a 50/50 drawing. Tickets will cost $5 a piece. Later that day after the Poker hands are drawn, the ticket for the 50/50 will be drawn. The winner will get half of what is collected. The other half will go to running the website. If Greg says that he is too good to take the money, then we will split up accordingly to number of members at the beach who have a ticket.
All stops will be in water deep enough for the largest boat. Still, water levels are low, so be on the lookout. We will make every effort to make them in calm water. If there are any obstacles they will be briefed and marked.
So too recap
$60 to enter, $20 for extra hands
Run is based on GPS coordinates, not a map
GPS is not mandatory to participate
Draw poker chips at stops and cards at LVHB beach when everyone is present
Wild card are $10 a piece, up to 2 which goes to the 50/50 which goes to run the website.
Food will be ready upon completion of Run.
Relocation only as a last resort.
Entry goes to food and misc items as well as winnings PM me for break down.
Have fun.

All the cards will be drawn at the beach. This way everyone gets into the excitment of the draw.

We're launching from some marina near Henderson, according to Brad Â*http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif , We will be missing two things; any clue what so ever where Hot Boat Beach is, and no GPS, unless Brad has one I don't know about Â*http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Â*So, is there a map I can get to easily figure out where the beach is? Last thing I need to do is run my drive over a submerged rock!!! Â*We'd love to run the poker run, we'll just find some charitable soul to follow Â*http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

RH - What are the chances of getting the gps coords early to enter into the gps units prior to getting there so that we can map a course? It does take some time to enter coords and it would be nice to already have the course laid out. Just a thought. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Other than that...sounds great. Can't wait. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Kinda what I was thinking, but I don't want to plan this thing so I was keeping my mouth shut.

Coordinates will be given early. No problem. Not too early as the water drops rapidy and a waypoint given might not be accessible at the time of the event. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif
Craig. At the gate to Lake Mead there are free maps. Just ask the Ranger at the gate. On that map, the beach is not marked, so bear with me. On that map is the word OVERTON arm. Look at the "O" on the map. To the left of the "O" is the beach. Also on the NPS.gov site you can download maps and it is between Ebony and Miners cove. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

Other things we can do, horseshoe tournament,? $5 to enter, draw for partners, winners take all. Good way to get to know other members you might not otherwise talk to. I was thinking maybe a triathalon for the kids, make them run 100 yds down the beach, put on life jackets swim 100 back, crawl 50 yds to the finish line. Everybody with kids that want to participate bring prizes ($10 to $15, water related) first kid back gets to choose first, etc. Just a thought. RH, need help? Let me know.
