Finally, I couldn't understand why the hell my posts (all 3 or 4 of them so far) had been deleted. Well, apparently you have to activate your user name or something like that....opps. None the less, I'm now back the game. Glad to see everything around here is going so well.

Of course, here is a pic of the current rig...the boat being a Malibu ski boat with nearly 800 hours...and its free and its my dads. But, I should have some pics of my personal boat build up this winter--a 25 Howard Bullet. Its time to reward myself http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
I live in Litchfield Park, AZ (west side of Phx). I've never been to Mead, and as much as I want to, I just don't want to do it with the Malibu. I need a chiropractor the next day after boating-hehe http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Thanks for the welcome back.

roln, i'm only seeing a red x http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif malibu's are nice rides. i grew up around tournament ski boats, nautiques, master crafts, american skiers and ski centurions. i love that style of boat and almost bought one before i bought my nordic. but i'll agree about them riding a tad rough. i always thought the best ride on those boats was siting right on top of the motor cowling.

We've decided on the 28 Bullet but not till after the first of the year...we need to finish the new house in LHC first and it's looking like November for it...prolly late like all construction goes...so I'm saying after the first.

Sounds like a great decision. You going to get the HP525? If you order it beginning of the year (before the boat show), you can hopefully get it in April, May at the latest. It blows my mind how backed up they can get-last order at the LA Show had an August delivery--thats crazy.

The jury's out on the HP525 - I may go with the HP500 and Whipple it later for about the same $$ as the HP525 but way more HP. But...we'll see. Ordering before the boat show is the plan. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Good question-- it can get pricey if internal mods are needed, but I would assume you can literally just bolt it on and reprogram the module- and your done. I'm not sure what Whipple estimates the installation time at for the boats, but I know for a 350TBI chevy truck its 18 hours. 18 hours times todays labor rates- 60+ and hour, you would be talking 1K+, but this is just my estimate.
Here's the guy to call- Gary Taylor of www.TPBoats.com. He's got a 525 whipple conversion on his site he did- he can give you a good price.
I've heard entire HP 500 packages, installed were around 8K-9K, but this was a while back, so it may be wrong.

Thanks for the offer. My concern is that they had to notch out my engine cover for the exhaust as it is. And the article says the whipple lays level with my headers, and I would need to see what it would take to clear the engine cover.
If my boat does 82-83 now, what it do with a whipple?? http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

If the price for the 525Whipple is 8K blue, and 8800 polished, I think its going to be about a grand + more than just he HP 500 whipple. I say go with whats proven--the HP 500 whipple setup is tough to beat. But in time, I think Merc will have the 525 dialed in just like the 500.
