planning to be out at LVHB/Hallett beach saturday and sunday, assuming I ever find this cove....

best I gather, between echo bay and the cove w/the porta-shitters on that same side of the lake. Something about a mile marker bouy outside the entrance or a big island or something like that to be looking for?
Otherwise I guess I'll be dropping anchor somewhere and maybe tying the big ice chest up w/me (24' pontoon) for back-ups and bbq
you are correct on the general area of lvhb beach. as you make the turn at middle point to up into the overton arm, you will go by the cove with the porta-shitters. the next cove to the north has a very long beach area. that is lvhb beach. most of us seem to congregate on the very north end of that beach. there is a pretty sizable island in front of this part of the beach. but do yourself a favor and DON'T drive between the island and the beach, it has become pretty shallow. we will be out that weekend as well, but i'm not sure which day. more that likely it will be sunday. that will give me sat. to get ready and monday to recover http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Rather be doing what you folks will be on Memorial Day Weekend ... have to travel and work ... f&*k. My .02 -- Be safe and stay in the upper basin. Mead fills up with folks with too little brains and too much toys on the big weekends ...

upper basin meaning what? the overton side of the lake?
my plan any big weekend is find a cove early and stay for the day, stay away from the a-holes

dicudmore -- yup, upper basin means beyond the narrows ... big bowl with two fingers essentially, one finger is the overton arm area with LVHB beach and two marinas, echo and overton; and the other finger goes up toward temple bar ... one marina and some nice beaches up a ways unless they've all turned to mud due to the low water levels.

thanks TMF, thats typically the way we go out. seems like all the a-holes migrate towards callville bay so we just throttle right on past there and up towards the echo area

We are going to be out the weekend as well. Not sure where we will be, but will damn sure be there for the T&B dinner.
