HELLO , I'M NEW TO LVHB, BUT NOT TO LAKE MEAD. I JJUST WANTED TO SAY HELLO AND TRY TO GET A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF HOW THE CLUB FUNCTIONS AND GETS TOGETHER. I'VE LIVED IN VEGAS NOW FOR ABOUT 9 YRS AND ONLY BOATED LAKE MEAD UNTIL APRIL WHEN I PARTICIPATED IN MY FIRST POKER RUN. I'M HOOKED. Stay tuned! We are meeting at LVHB beach (AKA Hallett Cove) fathers day weekend 6-19, 6-20. Lots of us are on Mead or Havasu most weekends.

MP the pic shows you going between the shore and the rock island..right?...yesterday Ken and I did that(which i was first) it was about 3-4 feet deep..you could walk from the shore to the island it seemed.

Well, let's see, where should I start???

1. our fearless leader no longer has a boat!
2. our resident teacher does in fact make errors in spelling and grammar on occassion
3. our resident party animal is usally home and having some brews while the rest of us lackeys are at work!
4. the newest new boat to the club will be have the <span style='font-size:19pt;line-height:100%'>BIGGEST</span> prop ever made and will be the fastest 247 in history!
5. boatxchange works really well if you want to sell your boat AFTER you've taken delivery of your new one.
6. if it can be found on the internet someone here will find it for you!
7. some people like to come on here and raz to the rest of us that they have the next two days off and ask if anyone wants to go to Havasu with them!
8. the oil filter only takes one o-ring!
9. everything you could ever want to know about batteries can be learned from numerous people on this site!

SORRY ABOUT THAT SHOULD'VE ADDED MORE. MY WIFE AND I CURRENTLY OWN A '96 CROWNLINE CUDDY CABIN 225CCR AND ARE ABOUT 2 TO 3 MONTHS FROM ORDERING A NORDIC 28' HEAT (VERY EXCITED). NO KIDS YET. UNFORTUNITELY WE HAVE DIFFICULT SCHEDULES AND FIND IT HARD TO BOAT ALOT TOGETHER SO NATURALLY WE DON'T KNOW ALOT OF BOATERS YET.

RnV yes thats correct. The water is so clear there it only looks that shallow. I won't be out on the water until at least Memorial Day weekend. Taking the boat for 50 hr. service this weekend and going to the Bahamas (Paradise Island) the following weekend.
