Let's all get together again. Who want's to go where? I'm kind of partial to Powell, but thinking of Havasu possibly also.

Haven't made any plans yet, but it looks like a pretty good crew (mainly of OP6'ers) are going to Parker. That's a cool party place. I may just do that.

Where is Park Moabi exactly? How would one humble man from Huntington Beach get there?
Then again, I say a trailer on RL's street for sale this past weekend. VERY INTERESTING. Let's see... New boat? Procharge mine? Trailer? Man, I hate making decisions.
The streeet actual says 'Riverlife". He is like a rock star in Cottonwood. You guys should have been there.

The cool thing about Moabi, is you can put in there and go all the way to sand bar and Havasu, and it's closer for you Thor, as well as us. It's right past needle's on the 40.

Thor-Park Moabi is a camping area on the river (Calif. side) approx. 10 miles down river from Needles just up river from Topock where the 40 crosses the river. The peninsula sites (which is where we usually stay) are the campsites right on the river and are very popular....I usually book them in a year in advance. If you are into wakeboarding/skiing, like I am, IMHO there is no better place than the stretch between Needles and Park Moabi! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

when we go to Havasu, we usually stay at the Island Inn because they allow dogs. it's ok, nothing spectacular. We used to just camp at Crazyhorse all of the time, but that crowd there got pretty rough last few times we did that, with drunk dumbass's taking baseball bats to beer bottles, throwing large rocks at cars, fighting, etc. that and Ms. LM1 is burnt out on camping now. We may just camp at Moabi though if there's anything available.

Won't the sand bar be closed on Labor Day? We stay at Nautical Estates whenin Havasu. They are two bedroom condos that sleep up to eight comfortbly, more uncomfortably. When we went two weeks ago it was $160 a night plus $25 cleaning fee. Not very much if you have two or three couples together. They have two bathrooms, plenty of boat parking(although tight), and a garage. They are on the island just past the marina.

Nautical Estates (http://www.havasuvacationrentals.com) Jeanete Clayton is the person to talk with. Typically on the holiday weekends you're looking at a 3 night minimum and somehwere around $250, most likely more, per night.
I know a guy that owns one of the condos in the Nautical Estates and he gets $325 per night on the big holiday weekends with a 3 night minimum. It is rented EVERY holiday weekend.
We stayed there numerous times and I would recommend it to anyone.

Thor, I think you should very highly consider that place at Cottonwood, I'd let you move in (since I own the whole place you know http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif ) If you got a procharger on your boat then you'd be a lot faster than me and we can't have that!! Then I'd have to go get one, and I can't right now.

kc0000
08-09-2002, 05:04 PM
the bmw is not the ultimate towing machine, wheel base is kind of short - but, it is paid for, hauls five adults and tows in comfort at any speed, the elim settles in comfortably behind the x5 at about 105, and I get 20+ mpg when not towing. not bad for a V8.

So where's this cove? I think I may know which one. We went there last year, is it just a few minutes south of Echo? Check out the gallery, I have pics of it in there and let me know if it's the same one, because if not I definitely would like to know where http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
so anyway, welcome to Las Vegas Hot Boats. Glad you checked in with us and hope to see you around the site more often. We're at Mead almost every weekend, and there's always something going on under the "Lake Trips and Events" section of the forum.
Keep in touch and let us know if you'll be out at Mead on Labor Day (I think we're just going to hang here because like Thor says BIGGER LAKE=LESS CROWDED http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

i'm not sure if it is the same cove or not, but it does have cliffs like the pics. only problem is there is,nt much room for tents ,but great for the day lots of cliffs and blocked by the wind. it is about two miles out of echo going into overton arm. you would'nt believe how blue the water is.i'll get some pics of the boat on soon

where is this lvhb beach
BADFISH II
08-19-2002, 08:31 PM
launching from Callville, LV Bay, or Hemmenway (anywhere in LV Basin) go out through the narrows. Once you get out of the narrows it opens up to the Virgin Basin. Go past the point to the left leading to the Overton arm. Go like you're headed to Echo, then make a hard left after a couple of minutes to a wide open beach area.
Key - there are two cove/beach areas after you pass the point where you go into the overton arm, it's the second one.
LVHB BEACH!, It get's hoppin' around noon or so and is a great place to camp.
