Mead 8-11??

Back in town, beautiful weather according to the forecasts through Sunday ... anyone planning on being out on Mead? I know alot of folks will be down on Havasu, but I'm thinking tomorrow, and maybe Sat. and Sun. locally.

AMAZING day on Mead today ... sheet of glass all day, tubed, skiied, grilled out an beered up on LVHB Beach, and etc. ... per usual I forgot my camera http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif.

End of the day got my heart pumping, around 3:30 we decided to get going as it looked like some storm clouds were rolling in over the mountain south of LVHB beach. Raced back to Lake Mead marina faster and faster, by the time we got there about 10 of us were getting out in a frenzy with giant bolts of lightening all around ... just as we got the boat on the trailer and jumped in the truck, torrential rain ... saw a couple folks running back in the middle of it still on the water ... quite a site and we were lucky to get out when we did ...

glad to hear to made it back on the trailer ok. that's a pretty long haul from lvhb to vegas marine isn't it? once again, i'm shooting for a sunday trip. more than likely putting in at overton and heading to lvhb beach. i haven't looked at the weather yet so i don't know my chances of making out there. it rained and blew like hell today so i hope it's not an indication of things to come for this weekend.

Weather report says sun and minimal wind Sat. and Sun. I'm out again Sat I think, maybe Sun. afternoon, but like T&B have Easter family stuff in the am, which usually ends up in an afternoon of enough food and libations that the next activity is sleeping it off ...

PS -- Have not seen the lightning bolts hit the H2O, and the sheets of rain where you can't see through it on the water, since I lived in Fla. Thought I was on a different part of the planet the end of the day yesterday. Will be watching the weather more closely in future.

Does everyone agree that Lake Mead Marina is in better shape than Calville? I've never launched from Lake Mead Marina before, so this would be a first, but the road to Calville sucks...need to find something else. Any idea when they plan to lay the new asphalt?

I use Lake Mead marina. It looks REALLY shallow launching there but never had a problem getting on or off there.

My .02 ... Lake Mead marina is WAY better than Calville ... access road to, ramp, and traffic amount. Better all around for larger boats ... one of the reasons I store in Boulder City ... 2 miles in and back out and a good ramp.

Besides I like driving the boat up to the north end of the lake rather than the car http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif.

I'm gonna try Lake Mead Marina to. The road to Calville..why didn't they just wait a couple more years until the lake is empty and fuck with it then...why now??? Who the hell is in charge of that place??? It should be me...I'd left the road alone and I'd give tons of tickets to all the people "with" mufflers on their boats....Oh yeah, and everyone would have to have a blower to....well, except for you guys of course....

Well, whoever didn't make it up to Mead today, missed out on a good one. It started out kind of windy, but after hanging out at LVHB Beach for a while we heading back down the lake to the marina and the conditions were pretty much perfect... Even Rud235 was out there...I forgot to take a picture though, but I'll vouch for him. Wasn't really alot of people either...maybe we should have Easter every Sunday...

he went with us and LOVED it!!!!!! we put in at lake mead marine and motored out a little ways and floated for a while. we decided to head over to little sandy so we could get him off of the boat and onto a beach. about 1/2 way there he fell asleep http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif he woke up once we got to the beach and really like playing in the sand. we did hook up with trouble maker for a bit, the picture doesn't do his boat any justice. that boat has a mean lookin' stance as it's idling toward you. nice ride bro! it was nice to meet you and your family. once we packed up (after picking up a bunch of trash from a few other boaters that left it all over the beach http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/insane.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/insane.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/insane.gif ) we headed back towards to the marine. i think dylan was asleep in no more than 3 minutes!! i'd love to post some pics but i don't figure it would work yet anyway. i'll try to remember to post a couple when the the site gets fixed.
