Mead was beautiful saturday afternoon. Anybody else make it out? All I saw all afternoon was about 4 houseboats....

How do I get to LVHB beach again? Through the narrows, turn left towards Echo bay....got it. How far past the left turn? Hung out a few hours yesterday in the cove on your left as you go towards Echo from the narrows w/the floating out-house, pump out etc.

Pick up etc went good. Got to Havasu minutes before they were trying to close friday afternoon. Handed over the money, they dragged the boat out to the street for me and wished me luck. Rained most of the way from palmdale on to havasu. Hung out a while, finally dried out. Dropped 50 gal in the tank ($100) and headed down to the marina. Nice security guard at the marina (I remember not liking these guys last year) advised me my boat was TOO BIG to launch there. Back to windsor, no guard, paying on the HONOR? system w/a pole to slip money??? wtf no receipt? Launched on the north ramp, promptly hit some gravel pulling off the trailer (guess props don't stay virgin forever) and finally got to take that maiden float/cruise. Rode down just past pilot rock, skies started looking ugly again, so spun around and back up to the channel, idled through then up to windsor.
Side note, water level still WAY LOW....
Whopping .8 hrs on that first drive.
Loaded up and headed for a friends house in Henderson (Warm springs and pecos)
Woke up to MORE RAIN. Cleared up around noon and headed for Lake Mead Marina. Other than a big mud puddle just before the ramp, still in pretty good shape considering the lake level. Had a very nice ride sat afternoon. Floated at the dam a while, headed up towards echo bay, floated there a while then back. Sitting at 3.0 hours now.
Looks like the boat will now sit for a couple of weeks w/easter next weekend and a Buena Vista trip the wkd of the 16th, little small for 29 up there, think we'll take the Hallett.
Here's hoping for 100 degrees next Vegas trip...

You were almost there dude http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif The cove with the floating outhouse is just two miles or so from the LVHB Beach. If you had kept going towards Echo you would have past an Island with a green Marker sign on it. I think it says twenty three or twenty four? I always fly by it so fast I can't read the numbers http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif .... Anyway, just as soon as you pass this island turn hard left and you will see the beach. There is a little rock island sitting about 150 yards from shore. Theres lots of sand and the beach is very kid friendly. Very gentle slope to deep water.

Yeah the name is real simple if you had met me. Full name = Dan Ian Cudmore, shortened on msg boards to dicudmore.
Lots of name ideas for the boat, none I've settled on. Friends daughter was thinking "no cats" for the v-bottom thing, and the fact I have a sis-in-law named Kcat that I can't stand.
But then that doesn't work for me since CHEETAH is kinda in the cat family so I was thinking "wet pussy" but thats already taken and prob not good when I'll regularly have a 15-yr old passenger.....all these decisions
