Lake Havasu - April 9 - 11

Well...even though this past weekend was great the next one needs to start to be planned...

Who's up for the April 9/10/11 weekend? Or are all of you spending time with the family on Easter? The rest of us heathens are headed back to Havasu to do it again.

Rolling in to town on Thursday night, on the lake all day Friday, part of the day on Saturday and then cruising home Saturday late afternoon/early evening.

Great! We tend to hang out in Steamboat 'cause it's a little calmer than than the Sandbar and less CO than the channel! Stop by Friday or Saturday and introduce yourself!

Steamboat was very empty last weekend. We pulled in at about 11:30 Friday and were the only boat beached until the rest of the LVHB gang showed up later.

Saturday the boats beached did not fill up the beach are and there were a few boats anchored as well. Very low turn-out. I would expect a small crowd again on the 9/10/11 weekend as well.

Steamboat is a mile or so past Copper Canyon on the AZ side of the lake. Look for the No Wake Zone bouys at the mouth of a large canyon.

Lake Havasu water level could be down by over a foot from our last trip two weeks ago - keep an eye open for the shallows and rocks.

Sounds like a lot of people have had challenges as they attempt to make it to the sandbar.

Marina would NOT let me launch my 29 last weekend. Had a sign on the window saying nothing over 25' due to water level. The north ramp at Windsor was open and launched from there but have ALWAYS hated that place. Nothing like trying to pull your boat out on a slimy slippery ramp, and a big rock bar couple feet underwater a few yards from the courtesy dock. Also heard from several ppl last wkd that they could not get to the sandbar due to water level.

It's in Desert Hills...take London Bridge Road past The Refuge. Good food at a reasonable price with a "cowboy" atmosphere. Sometimes it's hard to get into with crowds but definitely good place if you're up to the drive back.

The 25 Bullet is out...that would have been the next boat but we bought the new lot and are building the new house to accomodate the 28 Bullet - 3 car garage 1 bay 38' deep and 2 bays 28' deep. Total width 34' - one 10 foot door and one 16' door - both 9 feet high with 10' ceiling in the garage. That should work....

We'll have one empty slot as we will be storing the new truck there that we use to tow the new boat (once the boat is ordered). But...we have a ways to go...the house should be done somewhere around the end of the year at the earliest.

When we measured the existing house (31' deep) and various boats at the 2003 LA Boat Show....most 25s and 26s fit. But, then again...that was the 31' depth.
