What is the ramp like at Caulville now? How many lanes are open and how is the water depth there in the marina?

Also, I have never launched at Lake Mead Marina, How do you get there? Is it any better than Caulville?

Lake Mead marina. Small ramp, not very busy. My favorite, no waiting! I go from Henderson to Boulder city, make a left by the Albertsons? (I think-some store) Follow the road down till you see lake and turn left again. Horsepower cove/Las vegas bay is immediately on your right, Lake Mead marina about 1.5 miles further up the road.

I expect it completed any day. 2 weeks ago they were putting the seats and upholstery in. Haven't talked to them since, but I figure if it was done they would call and say BRING MONEY

i still need to change the water/fuel seperator. does walmart carry them and are they all pretty much universal?

They're not all the same quality, and it is better to match part to engine with certified marine parts ... call Offshore (or any boat shop as you are simply buying a new part in a sealed box) and pick up the recommended Mercruiser part from them. They're open on weekends for parts.

Rude, I will call you in the morning. I heard from another friend that the road to Caulville is torn up and in bag shape. Has anyone been ther in the last few weeks? I would hate to put a bunch of rock chips on the brand new trailer.

What about Hemmingway?

Where is everyone launching from Sunday??

due to a tread seperation on my truck tire and lack of a co-pilot i didn't make it to the lake today. so PLEASE post some pics. after takeing care of my tire situation i thought about going solo but have never done it that way and couldn't convince myself that i'd be able to get the job done. so since i'll be home all day today, the boat will get cleaned, washed, waxed, vacuumed, caressed, stroked, fueled, talked to nicely, started, re-covered and put away. DAMN i'd rather be at the lake!!!!!!!

It can be a hassle putting in solo, and takes more time ... put it in, get it started, ask someone to back your trailer in some more, back it off and tie at the dock, go park the truck, etc. and etc.; and then same to take back out ... but once you do it once, you've talked yourself into being able to boat any time you want regardless of who else may want to go http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif. Just do it!!!!!!!

When you go, I would avoid Callville bay for a while. It is 5 miles of a muddy dirt road. I drove the whole thing going about 10 miles an hour. I do not want a bunch of rock chips on my new trailer.

The water was perfect, you need to get your boat out soon.

As far as speeds, I know a guy with the same set up and he is doing 83-84 tops.

i hope you don't REALLY feel that way kurt. that wasn't my intention when i made that comment. the boating season has barely even started, i'm not worried about one weekend. if i wanted to go bad enough i would have gone. i don't know how many times you've told me how you've launched your ride by yourself. i was most concerned with holding up the line of other boaters at the launch ramp. i would suspect we'll be heading out to the water in the next couple of weeks and you're more than welcome to come along (as long as you leave the shovel at home http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif )
