Well it is getting to be that time !!! I usually have my boat serviced in Bullhead City @ Holiday. Are there any Platinum Merc shops in the LV or Henderson area ?? I'm thinking of taking my boat in for annual service (fluids etc) but also need to my transducer / depth gauge looked / replaced.

Any recommendations would be appreciated ... Also, a note regarding where they stand "pricing" curve would be appreciated. I know Holiday is kind of on the high side.

Thanks,

its all good

PROBRABLY BEST PLACE TO GO IN VEGAS / HENDERSON AREA WOULD HAVE TO BE "OFFSHORE MARINE" THEY DO GOOD WORK AND REALLY SEEM TO KNOW THEIR SHIT. SHANE IS A REAL GOOD GUY AND PRICING IS FAIR.

Agreed 100% with It's All Good. Offshore just gets better and better. They do all my work from simple oil changes and winterizing to engine installs and high performance parts upgrades. They've always steered me away from dumb things I've wanted to do, and when I screw something up and there's a need to either come down to the water and get the boat, or do a water test after some work, they not only oblige, but are into it. They also practice what they preach ... Shane the head mechanic runs a high performance eliminator, and Doug who runs sales is also a boat nut. $75 per hour plus parts, and if the job is huge they usually cut a deal on the labor costs.

Here's another

And you'll spend another 5-6 hours cleaning all the grease and oil off your boat.... If you are lucky you will only have 1 or 2 tears in your vinyl. Â*As a plus, you'll get 2-3 rags soaked with oil you can use at a later date. My time is worth more than the $10/hr savings on labor, drive and go to a place that you know does good work, well worth it in the long run.

My .02 re: VD's post. I've been frustrated sometimes as well with Offshore, primarily in the area of cleanup after a job is completed, or in the area of how well the boat is kept clean if left for a few days. On the up side, however, when I have mentioned frustration and have spent time on cleanup, Shane has always cut me a free oil change or fixed vinyl to original condition for free, or repaired part of my all weather cover, and etc. Still frustrating, but he has worked with me.

The question remains, and I have asked this on this site many times in public and private posts, who else is out there as a certified Merc, Volvo, and etc. mechanic shop who can do warranty work and can also work on hand built dynoed engines to satisfaction? So far, responses have included a couple independent mechanics that are good but do not fit the bill as just defined, and a couple other shops in town when upon investigation they have a longer and worse list of unsatisfied customers and incidents, respectively. I remain open to all recommendations for others in town, but have heard none yet that fit the definition of my needs. I'm all ears http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/Whatever_anim.gif

What about the place T&B uses in St. George? Not too bad of a drive up there about 2 hours each way.

I would have to be really pissed off at all local service to put my boat thru that kind of trailer drive and road wear each time I needed service (which is pretty regular, oil and filter change and lookover every 25 hours, nominal fixes in between, and major service 2-3 times a year) ... not to mention the effort involved to go get it from Boulder City and spend a day, and then perhaps have to make two trips ... one to get all up there and one to go retrieve ... and then if there were problems I would be making additional trips (i.e., go up to retrieve, inspect, get pissed, go home, come back again, etc.). In that sort of worst case scenario, Havasu is equally close, but I am a long way from exploring that option.

All Season Marine in Boulder City....Anyone have any experiance with this shop? I got a good refferal to the shop the other day. They are not the friendliest, but they do work on some nice boats. Also, Merc. authorized. I like the fact that it is a father, son and son team.
I just want to know if any members have used there services and how was the outcome (Cost vs. est., time to completion, clean return, repairs done right the first time, ect.)

I've spoke with them several times at the lake and they may come across as being a little stuck up at first, but they're good people and they definitely know their shit when it comes to boats. It's a family run business with no outsiders...they get the job done right the first time...and I think there pricing is in line with the other shops in town...

I personally don't use any of the shops in town unless I absolutely have to, but when I do, I travel the extra few miles to All Seasons.....

I store my boat up the hill and to the east of All Seasons ... righto on not the friendliest of folks. They seem to have an established clientele and enough business to care for more. I've been in the shop to talk a bit as it is a convenient locale, however, I was disappointed in the knowledge base in some areas; and some folks on this board have had some difficulties with them re: changing pricing and timely delivery of service. Same as everyone else I guess, good and bad ... they were bashed similar to Offshore on these boards a few months back. They do work on some nice high end boats in there regularly.

Let us know outcome and thoughts if you use them ... I would be interested in perspective.

I had some repairs done at a place called "Aqua Marine" a few months back. I got a reasonable deal on all the work I had done. He has a really small shop and spent alot of time going over all the work with me. There were a few times that he had to go over the estimate he gave me , but called me each time, and gave me a few options on how it could be done. All in all He treated me fair and was on top of his crews $hit.. He kept the boat for an excessive amount of time IMO but after an engine fire I got the boat back in pristine condition.. even had the whole cockpit and engine bay detailed for me.. However this is the first time i have used a local shop for any work.. and could have been just dumb luck..

By the way... I just got off the phone with Kenny at aqua marine and i plan on winterizing after the holiday.. $97 out the door for my boat (24' baja outlaw)... and if you tell him that "Dave" sent you ... he will take care of you. Also for those who care, Offshore outsources alot of work to him.. So some of you may have gotten work done by him and not even realized it... just my .02

Winterized my boat over the weekend....took about an hour. Of course winterizing in Lake Havasu doesn't mean much more than changing the oil, fogging the motor and filling the tanks with fresh gas and Sta-bil! Garage keeps the boat nice and cozy.

sorry Shane... Didnt mean to offend http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smashfreak.gif Like I said in my prior post this is the first work I have had done locally and really had a good experience.. Kenny seems like a stand up guy and mabee I mis-interpreted what he said in regards to offshore's outsourcing.. Just wanted to give some input to some of the members here who were looking for an "Offshore" alternative.

Again sorry if I offended.

I've used All Seasons Marine in Boulder City for years, and couldn't be more pleased. I would recommend you make an appointment as they take care of their regular customers in a timely manner (thats good). They know boats and boating and if they have to water test, its so close. I've had the occasional break down on the launch ramp (water pump or starter) and they were always good about squeezing me in and out quickly. I think you have to develop a repore (sp). They also have a great inventory of all the usual parts.
