Ever since I bought my boat I have noticed how slow the hatch opens....and if the battery is low, forget it! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif So I purchased one of these from Eddie Marine...

http://www.eddiemarine.com/cart/Pictures/302_30relay_box.jpg

I installed it today and what a difference! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif My hatch opens about 10 times faster now! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif You mount this relay as close to the battery (or battery switch for me) and it gives the hatch actuator a full 12 volts instead of much less than that by time the "juice" goes from the battery to the helm and then back to the actuator. If anyone has a slow opening hatch....I would highly recommend one of these. Well worth the money. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

$43.95 + shipping. Piece of cake to install....only took an hour or so to install. Used it today while we were out. What a difference it makes. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

LMAO http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif Â*No Mike, he's got a little mouse in there that turns a crank to raise the hatch. The relay is hooked up to the mouses ass and when Kevin hits the switch, the little guy now has a full 12 volts to "shock his ass in gear" Â*http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif Â*Please, no one tell PETA about this, as I may put one on mine too http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Electric versus hydraulic - the hydraulic pump runs on electricity duffusses. The electric motor driving gearing could open the hatch or an electrically driven hydraulic pump can open the hatch....the question is which is it total electric or electrically driven, hydraulic hatch. Morons! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Wrong again http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif (I'm splitting hairs)Â*The electric motor drives a gear attached to the ram which opens the hatch. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif ........or an electric motor can drive a hydraulic pump which applies force to the hydraulic ram that opens or closes the hatch http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

It's either mechanical or hydraulic........or maybe pneumatic http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

BTW: "Who are the duffuses?"

Will the two of you SHUT UP!!!! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif E502...it is an electric hatch motor. An electric motor works ram via gears. Hopefully, this will clear up all the confusion. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

What is yours? Does it look like this? If so, then yours is electric also.
