I was told this weekend that the Park Service has closed the narrows to boat traffic until July 18 or so. Any idea if this is true?
If so, I guess we'll be launching at Echo Bay to get to Hallett Beach for July 4.
Is this because of the Hallet accident?
That would suck. I always go throught the narrows to get to Hallet Beach.

I was at the lake on fri. narrows were open. You can get lake news at www.nps.gov go to visit your park and click on lake mead. it has news on ramp closures and other stuff.
HD i heard a 37 hallet hooked a turn and slammed the wall by wishing well cove. i also heard everyone got thrown from the boat. Friend saw the hallet getting towed out 5 ft. shorter.

Yeah,
A brand new Hallet hit the wall in the narrows on Memorial Day. It didn't just graze the wall, it went head on. Not good.

No one was seriously hurt I hope?
Ignore the download, I couldn't get the picture to load properly. It is supposed to be a picture of what I assume is the boat being referred to.

I called and talked to the marina this am. The whole lake is open. What you may have heard Keith is that the channel to the dam is closed, which it has been since 9/11.

I dunno. One guy told me he saw it on last Thursday's news. When NPS called me back, they told me they were closed too. Kevin from R&R said he was through there last weekend with no problem, so I'm going with that.

The name of the boat was Move -n- On ??!!! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif That's funny, looks like he'll be "Move -n- On" to jail (if it was alcohol related), and "Mov -n- On" to a different boat!
RL
Should be "Move -n- On" to some boat driving courses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
