View Full Version : Who recarpets boats?

Since my boat is completely stripped, I want to have the carpet replaced. Anyone have a contact of someone that does outdoor type carpeting or boat carpeting?

Did mine myself. Saved about $350. Bought the carpet at Lowes for around $3.50 a foot. Its a true marine carpet with a solid rubber backing. They have blue, black and I think grey. Used contact cement to stick it down. Very sticky stuff but I only messed up on one spot. Oh well saved lots o money to use on other stuff. Oops just realized from the pic that I forgot the wood trim that goes on the side up front. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/insane.gif

Crap. Ok will clean it up put all the lil stuff on then have another photo shoot. Stay tuned. By the way Lowes also has green and taupe (brownish gray color).

Thanks. I'm pretty happy with it. Didn't realize how worn the old stuff was untill I put the new stuff down. But like I said that contact cement was very stucky stuff and a lil tough to work with, but it should hold forever. The carpet was just wide enough that I didn't have to cut it up to put it in, but that may have made the job easier. From what I could tell the original carpet was put in before the top of the boat was put on. Just because they had it in places that I just could get to.
