What do you guys recommend or prefer? I have a 3 blade and it has no bottom end. Will I get better all around performace with a 4 blade? Ultra said the 3 will give me more top end, but it seems like my RPM's are low 4000? I haven't been in real smooth water yet since it's been broken in.

Your RPM's are definitely low. What horsepower and prop are you currently running?
Bottom line with props is that you'll never know for sure until you try it on the boat. Find a place that will let you test a few different props and go from there.

Try R&R Prop in Henderson. He is a member and is very good. Chances are he can get you dialed in on the first try.

I have a 6.2 liter 350 with I think 310-320 hp. I currently have a 3 blade prop. I plan adding some heads. Thanx for the info.

I thought that engine already came with heads......hehehe
What's the pitch on your current prop???
With 300hp you could probably pull a 22 pitch 4-blade.....

My Lavey came with a 3 blade. went 70 mph was a dog out of the hole. I put a 4 Blade Bravo 1 21p on and dropped to 65 mph, but it got out of the hole alot better. My Lavey had a 454 mpi 320 hp and was a 21'.

On my old boat (21'http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif when I went from a 3 to a 4 blade it made a HUGE difference. My hole shot was much better, could stay on plane at wakeboard speeds much better, and top end was better. Now granted, I went from a 3 blade aluminum to a 4 blade SS but it was still a big improvement. CC - I would think that your current prop is too steep if your WOT rpm's is only 4000....you should be around 4600 to 4800. You might want to try another pitch...for each step in pitch you go down you gain about 200 rpm's. Good luck and as D4$ said give Kevin a call at R&R.

I played around with the four blade until I found one that was just a little under the high side of the rev limit and then had R&R lab it which brought the RPM's back up about 300. I didn't lose anything on the top speed this way and the hole shot and planing speeds were much better.

Originally, Ultra said if I didn't like the 3 blade they would swap it for a 4 blade. When I called to set up my 10 hour service they said that if i wanted the 4 blade it would be a swap for the 3 blade and $200. I have only had the boat out 5 times and the prop is in perfect condition. You spend over 40 G's and then they try to F%%k you for another $200. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/angry.gif Does anyone have any info on R&R?
Thanks,

That sucks...I thought everyone said that Ultra was so customer friendly - NOT. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
Before you swap the prop...find someone that'll let you test a few. Here in LA Teague has a program that as long as you don't damage the prop they'll let you bring one back within 30 days or so and exchange it for another.

Number 1 rule when dealing with boat manufactures...get it in writing! Sorry to hear that, though. Here is the info on R&R Prop Shop (http://www.randrpropshop.com/home.htm).
