Ok, I have preapproval for Hot Boat Mag. to do a photo shoot and write up on Las Vegas Hot Boats. It's not guaranteed, but it could be if we have enough participation. We're shooting for July 4th weekend at Cottonwood. The important thing is they want a headcount and boat type's/sizes.
I was thinking about starting at Willow early Thursday July 4th and cruising to Cottonwood to meet up with RL and his friends, and whoever else may come from the California side. Then camp that Thursday and Friday, maybe Saturday too. RL, can you check with them and get a head count and boat type's/sizes and post here who can make it??
If you're interested and can make the trip, please reply here with a Yeah/boat type/length. If you can't make it on a particular day, but can on another day please note that as well.
Thanks to everyone!
Greg

Two words: Â*F**KING AWESOME!!! Â* Â*You knoooooowww Â*I'm down for that! Â*I of course will have my boat (you know what it is) Â*and I will verify, but am certain the three guys will be there; 30' Baja, SR 24 HTM, 38' Scaarab probably more but as I said I will verify.
I may, I repeat, may be able to get there early and somehow reserve some coves ( put some stuff in them to make them look occupied) for you guys because it will fill up very fast. Â*There is a ton of RV and camp sites at Cottonwood if you wanted to drive there and set up a couple of tents that way too.
RL
I forgot to mention, you said headcount, is that just how many boats will we have? or how many people, passengers and all? I will probably have 4-5 on my boat, there usually ends up being like 12 of the other guys.

Keith, Cottonwood is in the middle of Mojave. You'll pass it tomorrow (or today I guess already) on the NV side if you run from Willow to Katherine. Glad you like your boat. Sorry to hear it's so slow http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Sounds good guys. I will not be able to spend the night but a day trip will be cool!
I am pretty sure I can make it down then if I make the move the weekend before.
Count me and Mrs. THOR in for now.
BTW, anyone have a 20 or 21P 4Blade? I would like to try one out.
Unfortunately, I have to work on the 4th. Do you know which day that weekend that Hotboat is going to be there? I'm scheduled to work all weekend , but might be able to sub out my gig the day of the shoot. Let me know when you hear any more. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

Tomorrow is the deadline!!!?? What do they want? Did they say there has to be a minimum # of boats or something? I mean, I could have like at least 10 more boats coming, but I won't know for a couple of weeks (for everyone to respond). Since I'm coming out late this week, I'm going to try to get in touch with a bunch of people to see if they can make it. Let me know Greg.

Kevin from Hot Boat want's to know how many boats and what size and length of each. I told him I'd get the info by tomorrow because I figure they need the month to plan on getting someone there.
I may be able to ask for a few more days - anyone, anyone?? http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/huh.gif
let me know. I want this to happen for the club, so I'll stretch it if I can.

It shouldn't be hard to find one another, Cottonwood isn't THAT big. We'll just have to establish a meeting time for everyone to be in the marina or grouped just outside of it by the buoys. I hope this thing happens. It would be so awesome.
You know, if the 4th is too soon or not a good time for people, I guess we could do it a different weekend. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/ohboy.gif

Anyone else? I'll wait until later today to forward the info to Kevin at Hot Boat.
RL - you're right, we may have to push this back to another weekend. I should know by today or tomorrow. I'd rather wait a month and have a better turnout than throw it together and only have a fraction of the membership.

I want to go but we will be out of town on 7-4. Any weekend after that would work.

Hi DF$ and welcome!
I just started a poll for other possible dates as it seems we could gather more people if it's not on a holiday weekend.
Please check it out everyone and vote for the earliest possible day if you'd like to be involved.

Thor, I have a 21P four blade Mirage if you want to try it. It's been lab finished but its also been drug through the rapids below Laughlin once although I haven't noticed any side effects. Let me know if you want it. I live in Vegas so you stop by and grab it when you come to town.

I missed the deadline for this event, if you got enough boats. If not, then what about something a couple of months off to allow some time to plan. August, September. I'm in if this didn't already happen and you plan to reschedule. I can bring myself + 1 boat.
DFD,
I just might do that. I appreciate the help.
What boat do you have? Weight? Engine? HP?
I am curious if it will help me out.

Ok everyone, I haven't heard back from Kevin at Hot Boat. My guess is we'd be better off pushing this back to allow for more planning time and preparation, and allow for more participation. I'll start a new thread as soon as I figure some of this out under lake trips and events.

Hey Thor, have you looked on Scream & Fly (http://forums.screamandfly.com)? Â*They have a props section that gets a lot of use.

Thor, I have a 22.5 Crownline with a 7.4 MPI, 310 horse. Its not my hot boat of choice but it has served us well. Next year will be the new boat come hell or high water. This Mirage prop might be too small a diameter for your boat. A bravo prop I believe has a slightly bigger diameter. My buddy had a 22P bravo that I tried but I couldn't push it. Also R&R Prop service in Henderson is really good. Kevin let me try about four props for free before I finally bought one. They also do repairs and blueprinting, and will take props on trade-in. They have an ad in Hot Boat too. If you call him with your boat size, hull style, horsepower, and max RPM's, he can tell you exactly what you need. But your still welcome to try mine.
