I started my boat just now and the thing is just ticking away. It seems to be coming from the left valve cover. Anyone know what the valve clearance for a 454 BBC is? Just my luck this happened a few days away from the the get together.

I am not sure of the actual spec, but pull the valve cover, and find the rocker in question, spin the pushrod, tighten the rocker nut untill it quits spinning, then back off 1/4 to 1/2 turn. That is close. If you need help, let us know.
Do you have roller motor???
