I don't know the technical name, but does anyone know where I can buy those piston like engine cover lifters? I'm not talking about the electric lifts, just the little pressure rods on each side of the cover. They're the same as on car hatchbacks. I'd rather not get them from Eliminator because of the markup. There must be someplace locally or on the net that sells them.

Some AutoZones or Checker auto part stores have a large selection. Not all of them do. Call around. They are hood or hatchback lifts. GM F bodys have real heavy deck lids (Camero, Firebird) so if there is a power rating on them, that is the one youll want.

Check CP Performance, Rex Marine, or Eddies Marine if you can't find them locally. Eddies would probably have the best price if they carry them..

Good Luck....

Most trailer & camper shell stores carry the shocks you are looking for!

They are probably many sources available. You will need to match the weight of the hatch to the "pistons" so that they will hold the hatch open. Check the Thomas Register for manufacturers that make these. You then can track down distributers.
