Does any one know of a good reasonable muffler shop in town??
I need a flowmaster for my truck. I had a custom cat back installed with a Dynomax super turbo about 2 years ago. Well it already rusted out.
I have estimates as high as 190 bucks. That sucks. The whole damn system cost 300 including the chrome tips! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif

That sounds about right installation and pipes. I trust you're buying the mufflers from an outside source IE Jegs or Summit?
I would do that, then pay someone to weld it up with some pipes. Another option is to buy the kit, then have the welder weld it up. That's the cleanest and most reliable way to do it.
I personaly have about 8 different Flowmaster kits/mufflers and everytime I installed one (bolt on) I ended up having them welded IE Mustang GTs, Chevy truck, and Ford Diesel

I already have all the pipes. Just need the mufller. I guess I am not used to Vegas prices yet. Should have gotten used to it when I bought my house.
I have 2 1/2 aluminized to a muffler that is a single in and a dual out, then 2 1/2 over the rear end to 4 1/2 chrome tips. I got this made in Abilene Texas. Good craftsmanship, just bad muffler.

Call this guy, Charles Treadwell. He builds drag race chassis out of his garage over by Russell and Lamb. He will know where to find the best deal and he is by far the best and most resonably priced welder around. 435-7287 or go see him. He is on the corner of Lamb and Vader which is one block north of Russell. Tell him Eric Wills sent you.

Red,
The flowmasters are loud brother. Just incase you didnt know already.
I am buying the Gibson set up that bolts on for my Expedition. The K&N is done already, so I hope this gets me a little more juice. I have heard that the bolt on set ups are pretty good and dont need welding. Is this true?

From what I understand that the bolts ups work good new then eventually need to be welded. I always have had mine made.

THOR,
Yes that's correct the bolt-ons normally work just fine, but if they aren't 'right' on target with the clamps then they begin to move/twist and rattle.
Out of all the flowmaster kits I've used, I had everyone one of them welded. It normally cost me around $60.00 to have the welds done to the bolt-on version, then I removed the clamps and tossed them
Take it from me, welding them is far better of a job and is 10X more reliable.
