cbudge, welcome!!!!!! I haven't heard, but wouldn't be surprised. Probably hit a submerged obstacle or something with the water level so low. Seems like there have been more boating accidents and fatalities this year than I remember.... and it isn't even "prime time" yet!

I don't know if it was a Fountain, but I did hear something about a missing person and most likely drowning out there on the news. I believe it was boating related but can't recall the circumstances and I think it was this last weekend.

On a lighter note, welcome cbudge! It's good to have you aboard and stick around, it only gets better http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I was working my second job at Mercy Air, Air Evac Helicopter, at the Boulder City Base, on Monday. The wind was blowing approx. 60-70 MPH on the lake. Swells to 10-15 feet, Yes you heard it right. We got a call for a Boat accident involving a 38 foot fountain doing circles at approx. 50-60 mph. I guess they had no kill switch attached. Both the driver and the one passenger were thrown from the boat after launching off an approching swell. Not Smart... Especially on Mead, AKA "The Ocean" Only one was retreived from the water the other was not found. Anyways, We launched and as soon as we took off, the pilot said Â* Â* Â* Â*No Way!!! The MD 902 is a twin Engine Jet Helio. That is a NOTAR, Â* "No Tail Rotor." A strong aircraft. We had to abort and Call in the Monster Black Hawk from Nellis Air Force Base to transport the dude they found in the water. The NPS got the run away boat handled some how? Â*Dusty

That freaking sucks. It's sad when that kind of stuff happens but it should serve as a reminder to all of us that this s**t really does happen and to be careful, especially on "the ocean".

I think I would have freaked out going up in the helocopter with winds that strong. You've got a tough job my friend, but I know we're all thankful that you and the rest of the crew are there - kudos and thanks!
